I am a senior yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance Professionals and a Pilates instructor. I am passionate about delivering safe and effective Yoga and Pilates classes to the whole community. I believe that anyone can do Yoga and Pilates and have taught baby yoga through to chair exercise, sports yoga and everything in between.
I am a mummy to 2 teenage daughters and jokingly refer to myself as “the yoga mammy”. This is because i do not fit into the stereotypical yoga teacher drinking green juice and herbal teas in revealing yoga attire. I started yoga and Pilates due to ill health and a determination to overcome health problems I have had since childhood. I can be found as often on the side lines of a camogie pitch as in a yoga studio. I am fully aware that life can be fast paced and hectic but that 5 minutes of yoga/pilates/ mindfulness/ exercise is better than nothing.
As for nutrition I am a firm believer in moderation in all things, wine chocolate or fruit and enjoy a diet that is 80 % healthy. I am currently completing a Masters Degree in Human Nutrition at University of Ulster and looking forward to offering simple practical nutrition advice to my clients.
As well as teaching yoga and Pilates I am a complementary therapist and run Calm Confident Kids, a training company for baby and kids yoga and children’s reflexology. one of my passions being teaching yoga to school teachers so they can use it in the classroom
I provide classes on nutrition, complementary therapies, Yoga & Pilates for schools, community groups and sports teams.
Classes are available at The Studio, Maghera.
